Open Position: Sales Assistant - Paddington Store

 

Hands is a design-led lifestyle store based in Paddington, offering a curated selection of gifts, homewares, and accessories from independent makers and brands. We value creativity, attention to detail, and thoughtful customer service.

The role of a Sales Assistant is to drive sales through the delivery of exceptional customer service and deep product knowledge. We’re looking for someone who brings care to every detail, takes pride in doing things in an organised matter and brings energy to every customer interaction. This role is perfect for someone who:

  • Warm, confident, and clear when talking to customers
  • Enjoys engaging, helpful conversations that guide customers
  • Keeps things organised and is attentive to details noticing what’s out of place, mislabelled, or missing
  • Is accuracy-obsessed – whether it’s restocking shelves or picking online orders
  • Take initiative without cutting corners
  • Organised and self-managed especially when juggling tasks
  • Cares about doing the job well
  • Genuinely interested in design, lifestyle products, and retail

Minimum requirements:

  • Retail or hospitality experience
  • Fluent spoken English
  • Positive and enthusiastic with a passion for people.
  • Comfortable with basic computer tasks (especially Excel)

Tasks & responsibilities include:

  • Opening and closing of the store
  • Maintaining store presentation and cleanliness
  • Visual merchandising and product display
  • Serving customers and processing store sales and online orders
